Date CountdownA taskbar widget for Windows 10 and 11Free
Date Countdown keeps one date in the corner of your taskbar and tells you how far off it is — in days while it's far away, then hours, then minutes, then seconds in the last stretch. It never shows you a unit finer than the wait deserves, so a date five months out reads as a number you can take in at a glance rather than a ticking wall of digits. Under the number is the final thirty days as thirty marks, the lit run held against the date on the right and shortening from the left as you get closer — so a full row means the date is still more than a month out, and you can count what's left without reading anything. Colour stays out of it entirely until the last day, when the reading warms, and the last hour, when it warms again — so the widget looks calm right up until the moment it shouldn't. Leave the date blank and it counts down to New Year.

- Keeps counting after the date passes, so you know how long ago it was
- Borrows the taskbar's own colour and follows your light or dark theme
